Technical Climbing Trip Information
Climbing activities will be subdivided into two categories -
General Climbing and Advanced climbing. General climbing includes beginner and intermediate
level climbing and Advanced climbing is at the intermediate and higher levels
of climbing. The trip leader and lead climbers will determine how many
climbers, i.e. seconds, can participate. Also, they will determine if the
individual climber is capable of climbing at the General or Advanced Levels and
multi-pitch routes.
All ice and rock climbing trip participants are required to
have a helmet, belay/rappel device (capable of double rope use), 3 locking
carabineers, 2 prusik slings, 2 slings 2 foot long, 1 sling 4 foot long, a
cleaning tool, harness, climbing shoes, headlight, extra clothing and rain
gear, food, water and a pack.
All trip participants will be required to sign this Acknowledgement of Risks, Assumption of Risks, and
Release Agreement for AMC Volunteer-Led Activities. Please print it, read and sign it, and turn
it in to the trip leader.
